Farewell OT

Well, here it is…nestled at the bottom of a long list of tasks on the to do list. It’s been there for a few months now and it’s taken a whle for me to pluck up the courage to actually do it. But it’s done.

As many of you know I’m an occupaitonal therapist and mummy by day and a designer by night. But as of the 8th August I will have 2 jobs instead of 3.

Scary, yes – having a regular wage has many benefits especially with a young family to support. But you can’t burn the midnight oil indefinately so it’s time to take the plunge.

Being an OT is pretty incredible and that’s really why it’s taken me a while to do. I get the chance to support and enable people and their families at times of greatest need. What a priviledge to get to meet amazing people, often in their latter years with such wisdom and histories. And to utilise the fantastic training I received at Barts and the Royal London some 13 years ago.

I guess looking at my biology notes from that time I should have known I hadn’t left my creative career behind…

So a sad farewell to OT and a big excited “Hello” back into the world of design. Wish me luck – I’ll keep you updated….
