Teacher gifts in one fell swoop

Teachers eh? Aren’t they brilliant?! A whole year of creative lesson planning, after-hours marking and  extra curricular dedication needs a thoughtful reward. And something that they’re going to love and use.

Wine is obviously a marvellous gift but what if your child has had a teacher who deserves to be a little bit more delighted when they open their pressie?

It can be tricky to find the time for ‘thoughtful’ while you’re juggling the madness that descends as we hurtle towards the end of term. So fear not – I’ve put together a little guide with the best teacher gifts. And better still you can pick them all up at Sneinton Market. So you don’t need to go far and better still you’re supporting local businesses!

Here’s a little walking tour of your most teachery outlets:

  1. Start on Avenue B at the rather wonderful Luisa’s Vegan Chocolates. Here you’ll find the best bean to bar chocolate in Nottingham. Don’t take my word for it – pop in and have a taste before you buy. You’ll find it hard to disagree.
  2. Turn left out of Luisa’s up to Gedling Street and Bouquets Boutique. They have a huge selection of bath bombs, soap and gifts for all pockets. Danielle and Maxine will be happy to help you pick something if you’re unsure what to choose. Bath bombs, soaps and all manner of pamper goodies for teacher to enjoy. Starting at £3.00 & situated on Gedling Street.

Helena Tyce designs, teacher gifts3. Out of B.B. turn right and you’ll happen upon The shop at Sneinton Market. This little gem stocks everything from humorous tea towels by Corrina Rothwell (check out ‘Apostrophe Rage’) to coasters, cards and hand turned wooden pens. Also on Gedling Street opposite the GB Cafe.

teacher gifts4. Hop out of the shop, turn left and you’ve found Blend Cafe who stock a range of delicious coffee if you’ve a teacher with caffeine needs!

5. Out of Blend onto the plaza and hang a left to find the marvellous Helena Tyce Designs (I’ve heard very good things about this girl!) If you want something personalised she’s your man with mugs, coasters, prints and cards printed in house with your own message or names on. Next to Stewart’s on Avenue C.

teacher gift6. Out of Tycey’s studio duck under the alleyway onto Freckingham Street and hang a right. Here you’ll find The Watered Garden – the best stockists of gorgeous plants, succulents and terrariums this side of Huntington Street.

That’s a handful to get you started. Trot on down, say hello and tick those teacher gifts off the list. And the teachers will be pleased you did! And fear not if you don’t live near Sneinton Market in Nottingham – many of these small businesses deliver so her dover to their website or Facebook page and ping the, a message to let them know what you’re after!
